How bad do you want to lose weight? How bad do you want to be conformed to the Master by being obedient to His Word?
That’s what it comes down to. “How bad do you want it?” Imagine my head moving from side to side, maybe pointing at you a little. I’ll ask you again. “How bad do you want it?”
Listen I’m not hear to BS you and make you feel good. So, here it goes.
In the time that I have been “off the air” if you have found yourself slipping back into your old eating patterns; allowing your body to be in control of you, rather than you controlling your body, it is time to roll up our sleeves and get back to work, ’cause you aint gettin’ it. So let’s start with the basics.
There are the two parts of, or aspects of, The Dieting Mind. Daily living. And extreme weight loss. Both based on what the Bible says.
The constant. The daily living out of… crucifying the flesh, or body. Participating in our conformity to the image of Christ. Not being gluttonous. We believe that when denying the body what it craves, we are practicing, or rehearsing holiness. Which, over time, results in a will-power – energized by the Holy Spirit – strong and resilient. Indomitable is a great word here. This is the daily training for the big game. Where the rubber meets the road. This is the secret to victory when resisting temptation in the hour of trial. We practice holiness in the little things to be ready for the big things. When you want that cheese cake in the refrigerator. Or, when you want something, or someone, who belongs to someone else and are not satisfied with what you have.
The result? A healthy weight. A clear mind. Fewer sick days. Leaner muscle. Renewed sex drive. But most importantly, we live our lives like this to be conformed to the image of the Father’s Son: Jesus Christ. We glorify Him in our bodies. And His glory fills His Temple. And we are transformed.
As I’ve said before, “The enemy gets into our minds through our bodies. God gets into our bodies through our minds.” Pastors are not denouncing gluttony because they can’t see it in the new testament. Every epistle, every gospel, and every book of the Old Testament deals with it. When was the last time gluttony was pointed out at your church? When was the topic of “Daily crucifying of the flesh” dealt with? At your next potluck, just watch how people go back for 2nds, 3rds…
I mean, if I’ve got it wrong… please leave a comment. I want to start dialogue in the church about this.
So that is the first aspect. The second is the extreme weight loss. As I’ve said before to some of you. “If you do exactly as I say, in two months you will be 40 pounds lighter. Remember I’m not a doctor. I’ve got to write this. If you do anything in this blog it is at your own risk.
Okay. We’re done with that.
The program for extreme weight loss revolves around eating once every 24 hours. While drinking water and protein shakes. Just no solid food. And then when you do eat, it’s only gonna be a salad. Walking. Soaking in hot baths. Or whatever works for you. The biggest things are: eating once every 24 hours. And walking a lot. If you count your steps. a good amount, before you eat your breakfast, is between 4500 and 5500. Make sure to climb hills and walk fast.

Listen I know this is scary. But verses like the ones below are even scarier. You need to get your gluttony under control, stop blaming your hormones, and accept responsibility. If you are willing to do that, we’ll have you skinny before you know it. And just to let you know… you will mess up. keeping rules is not what this is about.
Galatians 5: 16-24
16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
17For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
19Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Read this next verse and really expose yourself to it. I mean. it is just “mater-of-factly”. The level of conviction in it, is divinely super charged with sanctification potential. So, I’ll leave you with it. How bad do you want this…?
=>24Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
